Niva is not a studio production, She can Sing and riff and spit vocal flava like the old pro's from years ago. A voice that reminds us of the greats in R&B such as linda jones, mary j blige, lynn collins
and many more. Niva is a native of Houston Texas who left everything behind in order to pursue her dream of finding success and respect as a Soul and R&B vocalist.
Niva lives this music life as a matter of life!!!!!!!

Niva has been singing and performing from the age of 16. She showed her determination and motication for music and show biz by getting herself booked on some of houstons biggest shows and events all on her very own. Every year she performed for congress woman sheila jackson lee and other major events.

Niva worked partime jobs and used every dime she had to promote herself and develop her craft as a performer and artist.

As a R&B dance artist Niva knew that new york city was the place to be.Niva did go to L.A for a short time and recorded some songs but it was not right for her.

Niva got on a greyhound bus with her suitcases and barley any mony and headed to New York City. She did not know anyone or have a place to stay. The only thing she had was determination and great talent. Niva got a room and began singing at open mics and responding to ads online and in newspapers. Eventually she met good music people who heped her along.
In early march of 2008 the new black music team put an ad in the village voice backstage for a R&B singer.
Arrangements were made and Niva came to the NBM studios to meet the team and show what she could do. When Niva first opened her mouth it was clear that she was something special.
In addition to her HipHop R&B style niva also loves to sing old school classic soul. Niva was introduced to many of the old school classics and quickly used this great music to become a more prolific and powerful singer and performer.

She studied and eagerly rehearsed and practiced the works of tina turner, aretha franklyn and linda jones.
Niva's singing became so dynamic and prolific she was she was given the name “Niva the Soul Diva”.
In 2008 new black music put Niva together with Spoken Word artist, Kamal Supreme. Niva took all of her pain and suffering from her time growing up in Houston Texas and poured it into her first official song for commercial release, “I Will Make It”. Niva has acted in films and is studying and perfecting her acting craft. Niva is a favorite of many fashion designers who use her to promote their exclusive designs.
