it's is a beautiful day neighborhood.
It may be crazy cold for the month of April but the news media industry is hot hot hot.
Everyone seems to be up in arms over comments by radio talk show host Don Imus, i wanted to take a few minutes to talk about that.
As you probably have already heard Imus called the members of the rutgers University basketball team a bunch of nappy headed hoes.
He and his crew then went on to describe the team as a bunch of jigaboos' and wannabe's, and the whole world of news and sports entertainment is focusing on Don Imus.
Of cost the world of black (African American) media and black civil rights leaders have plenty to say about Don Imus and they're calling for this firing from his radio/television show on MSNBC and WFAN sports talk radio. Black talk radio's hosts and callers are in an uproar over the comments of Mr. Imus. Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev Al Sharpton are calling for Mr. Imus to be fired in addition to calling for boycotts of a MSNBC. We know the imus show generates millions of dollars for NBC so it remains to be seen whether he will be fired from his talk-show, of course we think that highly unlikely. I want to give you my personal opinion on this issue and how i see it, you might not like what i have ro say.
Personally I love when talk show host talk in this manner and say these types of things. The more vicious and vile the statements and comments the better. Whether it's Don Imus, Rush Limbaugh, howard stern or any of these clowns, when they speak we need to listen. No offense to anyone reading this article but they are saying things that are in the hearts and minds of the many non african american people in America today. It is my opinion that they are saying what their listeners are afraid to say, not all non black people, but a great many.
Did you read the article by that asian kid (eng) "why i hate black people", Have you been reading the articles about latinos ethnically cleansing blacks from their neighborhoods.
So these punks on the radio are speaking to a very wide audience.
You might think it is bad taste of them to speak in this manner , but the reality is they are speaking the conscience of many non black American people. The fact of the matter is that if black people would disappear off the face of the earth tomorrow, many imus listeners would not bat an eye and in fact some would dance a jig of glee worthy of the soul train line. It is my opinion that if they were to start lining up the box cars in order to ship black folk off to ovens many many of these talk show host would find a way to justify it and not have one minute of discomfort.
Let's remember this is the same thing that happened to the Jews in Nazi Germany and when they started shipping jews off to ovens and making lamp shades out of them most Germans did nothing. they felt absolved of doing anything because of their prejudices against Jews for whatever their demonic reasons.
And of course the Nazi propaganda machine cranked out all types of anti-Jewish rhetoric via of the Radio. I'm sure it started out very slight with the nazis and their sympathizers saying we're just being funny, and then it gravitated to more serious more horrific and more incendiary talk radio. Remember the scripture says there is nothing new under the sun.
So when Imus and others of his ilk speak. I want to hear everything they say, l want it out in the open not behind closed doors. i want to hear everything they say and know everything they think and I want to know everything about them, because whether you like them or not, these people have millions of listeners, they are very popular because it echoes the mindset of the millions of people who listen to their radio show. Myself personally, one of my favorite shows is the Gary null radio show, I listen to Gary null every day at twelve noon while taking a break from mixing, tracking or writing I listen to him because I like what he has to say about health and the environment, my mindset on certain issues is similar to his. So to those who listen to Mr. Imus and Rush Limbaugh and all of the other knuckleheads that we have on the public airways, they like what they hear and they share the same mindset.
The Flip Side.
We have more important things to think about and to worry about in the black community than Mr. Don Imus, Don Imus is non sequitur as far as I'm concerned. Don Imus is of no value, and of no consequence to the black community in the grand scheme of things. The masses of black people don't listen to imus.
The black family is falling apart the black family in America is being destroyed, that's why you have fifteen year old Kids running around with a guns shooting and killing, that's why you have black queens being degraded and made into sexual objects of no value.
It is my opinion that Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and all of the of the civil rights leaders and black leaders would be better served concentrating on organizing and unifying the black community financially, socially, and politically. You are not going to see A Don Imus make these derogatory comments against Jews or gays (at least not publicly) because of the many organizations which serve their interests as a community,
We hear rappers and others in this music industry denigrate black women every day, turn on the radio or tv and you could hear and see this every day on black radio, tv and movies. We must get our house in order, so that if and when things do escalate out of control. we will be able to respond. As i have said many times the first group we need to boycott are the ignorant fools producing this nonsense we listen to and look at. let's start with these rappers with their negative ignorant lyrics.
Many people in hip-hop love snoop and his pimp image or other rappers and their gangsta image glorifying every stereotype imus and his crew can conjur up. These people do just as much damage as Russ Limbaugh and Don Imus and probably even more so, They are affecting the hearts and minds of our children. As i said, our children aint listening to some old white man talk radio show.
As far as i'm concerned the black entertainment industry is in full agreement with imus.
You see most of the female artists have light skin, straight hair and look as non black as possible.
Again when imus speaks he is just echoing our society at large.
We have been conditioned toi hate all things black.
Y'all better go and watch those old soul train videos because you will see we are a beautiful people, second to none.
I told you you were not going to like what had to stay.
Where are the women's groups.
One last thing i want to say. The black civil rights movement opened the door and the women's movement used this as a springboard to launch their own successful movement, that being said black women must recognize they are not part of the women's or feminist movement at large. The women's movement of large is a white movement. Black woman need their own movement in order to be unified and organized to respond to issues that involve back women.
Throughout all of this hoopla over or Don Imus you have not heard one word from the National organization for women, not one word from the WNBA, not heard one word from any women's organizations regarding the statement by Don Imus against these black female athletes.
Black women and black folk in general need to look after their own issues and agendas, and we cannot depend on anyone to come to our rescue when the stuff does hit the fan in whatever manner that may occur. We must hold our heads up high and look inward as a people and not look for help from anyone else because it ain't coming.
we must be the best that we can be and do what we can do so that we can respond to any situation effectively..
In the words of Mr. Rogers Bye Neighbor.
Hey Mr Imus we don't need your apology and we don't need you!
